Dr. Edward Asamoah is serving as the interim North Africa Representative of the Association of Schools of Social Work in Africa (ASSWA). Edward is an academic with years of experience in teaching and social research in Ghana and beyond, focusing on school social work, inclusive education, working with families, and children’s migration. Edward is an external assessor for the Ghana Tertiary Commission (GTEC) and a reviewer for several reputable journals, including the International Journal of Disability, Development and Education (Elsevier), Leadership and Policy in Schools, and Social Sciences & Humanities Open. He earned
his Bachelor’s and MPhil degrees in Social Work from the University of Ghana, before proceeding to do another MPhil degree in Childhood Studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim-Norway, and a PhD in Applied Social Sciences, specializing in Social Work at the City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, respectively.
