SUSAN MUCHIRI is a PhD Candidate in Social Work and the Head of Department of Social Work and Community Development at Hope Africa University, Bujumbura, Burundi. She is a representative (member) of Hope Africa University in the Association of Schools of Social Work in Africa (ASSWA) – in 2023 and a member in the Women’s Interest Group in the International Association of Social Work Schools (IASSW) – in 2023. Together with colleagues at Oxford Brookes University, she has won the CATE award for her collaborative work on Antiracism in Social Work.
